As the 2024 NFL Draft gets closer, the rumors of the Chicago Bears landing USC Trojans QB Caleb Williams with their No. 1 pick receive more attention. And sometimes, critics are always there to dim the spotlight. After retired NFL QB Greg McElroy taunted the 22-year-old’s success, saying that he “has never experienced adversity,” Caleb Williams had a fitting reply for him on X on April 10.

According to Williams, his college football career isn’t without adversity in his three seasons. But that reply came before the latest news about the projected No. 1 pick’s account hack. It looks like he’s even experiencing some pre-NFL draft adversity.

Just two weeks and a few days before the 2024 NFL Draft, the projected No. 1 overall pick faces a hurdle with his X account. It seems Caleb Williams X’s account has been hacked. According to Dov Kleiman’s X post, “Caleb Williams’s Twitter/X account is currently hacked. Do not click on any links!

In the hacked post, the 22-year-old was projected as being an official partner with @injective. The post further reads that his followers are “fully eligible to claim your $100 in Crypto Rewards Here.” It’s followed by a shady-looking link that could rob unsuspecting people of their privacy or safety. This unexpected dilemma is the last thing Caleb Williams needs as he tries to prove himself as a worthy No. 1 pick while addressing false judgments from his critics.

In his college freshman year in 2021 at Oklahoma, Caleb Williams was the backup QB to Spencer Rattler before he finally started in the season’s sixth game. In 2022, he transferred to USC and had to deal with adapting to new team dynamics, coaching staff, and environment. He suffered from a hamstring injury in the game against the Utah Utes during the 2023 Pac-12 Championship game. In his final collegiate career, he suffered a dismal record, leaving with 7–5, which is something every aspiring QB would want to change.
