Coach Prime is used to being the center of attention. Ever since he entered Boulder, the Colorado Football Program has received unprecedented attention. However, the lack of decisive favorable results has soured the attention and turned it into criticism.

HC Deion Sanders is a popular face in terms of criticism on social media. Matt Barrie, the sportscaster for ESPN’s SportsCenter, joined Greg McElroy on the YouTube show ESPN College Football, hinting that Coach Prime could receive deep criticism if his Buffs fail to meet the expectations. Calling Sanders out, the analyst raised a warning, saying, “he can’t have it both ways.”

As the spring transfer window saw several players leave the Buffs, some held Sanders accountable for their decision. This led to a heated social media exchange, with a barrage of tweets from both sides. The situation escalated further when Barrie, referring to what is termed as Coach Prime’s “hard coaching” on the show, issued a stern warning.

“I have no problem with how he’s handling it, but he better not have problems when we as a college football final crew or you calling a game or what we do in college football. He can’t have a problem when they’re not winning and we come after him because you can’t have it both ways,” Barrie cautioned.

With the Buffaloes moving forward with a new set of players, the void left by the departed Buffs could pose a significant challenge. In this precarious situation, the potential for Colorado to stumble on their path ahead is high. Amidst this tension, Coach Prime has been accused of “double standards” on another YouTube show, a critique that could have serious implications for the team’s dynamics and performance.

Sanders charged with having double standards

The host, Kevin Borba, called out on the conflicting philosophy that Sanders follows. According to Borba, on one hand, he talks about motivating the young roster while at the same time leaving no chance to chastise them on social media. “He always talks about wanting to propel guys, young athletes to the next level he always talks about supporting them so when there’s a tweet, and it’s his kind of looking like he’s making fun of a young athlete who probably looks up to him or looked up to him at one point… it kind of a lot of people were like what the what is wrong,” Borba pointed out.

Another occasion when Sanders faced backlash for being unable to handle criticism was after Xavier Smith’s exit. As Shedeur passed a comment on Smith being not so important for the Buffs, a fan commented, “Hey, tell your son to stop acting like he’s the coldest out there.” It then happened that Sanders immediately took the stand and attacked the fan with his reply, “He’ll be a top-five pick. Where’s your son going? LOL”.

As the Colorado Buffaloes face the harsh light of criticism and scrutiny, Deion Sanders must tread carefully, considering every move. The future of the team rests on his shoulders, and he must strive to reverse the “embarrassing” trajectory and change the current situation in Colorado. The audience should feel the gravity of his role and the impact his decisions could have on the team’s future.
