There are a few things that leave Rome Odunze utterly shell-shocked. One of them is Angel Reese’s NIL earnings. The Bayou Barbie made headlines for her achieving a $1.8 million NIL valuation. However, when that valuation was misunderstood as $8 million, all that Odunze could muster up to say was “Oh Mom!” Given the fact that Reese had 17 NIL deals in the 2022-23 season, some with the top names in the industry like Reebok, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise for Odunze, right? Well, it was the misunderstood numbers that elicited the response from the WR.

“We talked to Angel Reese. I think Angel makes eight million,” the hosts of the Pivot Podcast said mistakenly. While the other host corrected the number to $3 million later, the impact was already delivered to Odunze. “It’s more than I make,” the WR said. Per Women’s Health, Reese ranked fifth for most NIL deals overall and was the second-highest deal-making female athlete behind softball player Lauren Burke. Her NIL deals list also has major multi-million and multi-billion companies around the globe like PlayStation, Raising Canes, McDonald’s, Coach, Wingstop, Outback Steakhouse, and Amazon. All these totals her NIL valuation to $1.8 million.

Cerise is another name on Odunze’s NIL list. Montlake Futures, a non-profit organization, also features on the Washington receiver’s NIL list. If Odunze gets drafted as one of the top 10 overall in the 2024 NFL draft, he can simply expect the income coming in based on his popularity to only shoot up. The team he gets drafted by will also be an influential factor in heightening Odunze’s popularity. Which team do you think will draft him? Drop your predictions in the comments.
