Besides being the Male Athlete of the Year, Simpson received the Chauncey Billups Award as the team’s Most Valuable Player. He was the only major conference player in the nation (one of five overall) in 2023-24 that averaged 19.0 points. An All-Pac-12 Conference first selection, Simpson received the McKinley Wright IV Assist Award for the third-straight season after leading the Buffaloes with 181. On the other hand, Hunter’s offensive numbers include 272 receptions for 3,963 yards and 48 touchdowns. His stats also include 48 receiving touchdowns that broke the Georgia state record previously held by Braxton Hicks. Relying on the numbers, Hunter will engrave his position at the top.

Hunter and high expectations surrounding him

Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports holds high aspirations about Colorado’s dual-threat star to be picked up in the top five in the 2025 NFL Draft. Wilson claimed, “Hunter is a special talent who looks like an NFL star on both sides of the ball.” The root of these high expectations lies deep within Hunter’s comeback. The wide receiver was limited to nine games due to injury in his first campaign with the Buffaloes.

But he pounced back to action, finishing with 57 receptions for 721 yards and five touchdowns. He amassed 30 tackles, three interceptions, and defended five passes on defense. On top of all these records, his star power and status as a two-way player will place him at an edge above the other prospects in the upcoming draft, making him one of the most highly utilized players in College Football 25. Hunter will embark on a journey where he will be a major coup for EA Sports.

If these projections are accurate, no one would be as proud as Deion Sanders. As much as Coach Prime rooted for his quarterback son, Hunter has always been on his priority list as he happened to decide every move of his football career.
