The Commanders are likely to reach a conclusion for their much-awaited No.2 pick as they are preparing their campus to host the top prospects for the draft day. As April 25 nears, the teams are hosting their top 30 prospects, also called the 30 visits. As a part of those 30 visits, the commanders are set to host Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, JJ McCarthy, and Michael Penix Jr. the top 4-prospects of the 2024 NFL draft class (since Caleb Williams, the No.1 pick is expected to go to the Bears) all together, at their campus.

The FedEx Field is expecting some serious interviews and contemplations as the Commanders are to make the ultimate decision regarding their team on Tuesday and Wednesday when they’ll host all 4 QBs together. General manager Adam Peter and Dan Quinn seem keen on recruiting for the QB division, these sequence of invitations makes it all too clear. The real question is: Who will it be?

The Commanders initially expressed great interest in JJ McCarthy. However, the intense chase after the Michigan QB got a tad bit too much for the Commanders as they pivoted their attention back to the QBs they were originally aiming for – either Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye. The move cements Washington’s wanting a QB trade at No.2. The QBs will be a part of a larger group joining the Commanders on the days.

It might be a tactic from the Commanders to compare their prospects at the same time. Whatever it is, they are not letting their QB room stay vacant following the trade of incumbent starter Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. This way of observing all prospects simultaneously sets their process apart from the other teams, like the Patriots who also hosted them, just not on the same day.

Who will win among the quartet?

Washington’s front desk knows the importance of securing the best-suited signal-caller in the draft since it would be a generational talent, franchise QB, or another year of being subliminally somewhere in the lower rungs of the score table. JJ McCarthy is coming off a fresh National Championship game but analysts like Keyshawnn Johnson don’t see “Anything special or worth” in him.

Jayden Daniels, on the other hand, brings tough competition with his Heisman trophy. Drake Maye stands solely based on his talent and not on any brownie points. Each QB holds the potential to be a generational talent. So who do you think will the Commanders choose?
