By now, the Colorado Buffaloes fans are aware that Cormani McClain has moved out of Deion Sanders’ program to join the transfer portal. But what the fans are not aware of is the real reason behind McClain’s drastic move.

Now it is time for them to get some clarity on what instigated the cornerback to leave Colorado. The five-star prospect of the 2023 recruiting class spent only one season with the Buffaloes. It is the player’s mother who has come up with the real reason behind it.

Last year, McClain joined Colorado as the top-ranked cornerback. However, after a short stint, he no longer wishes to continue with his journey here in Boulder. Amidst speculation regarding the cornerback’s move, his mother, Kaishay entered the scene to drop a bomb. Being her son’s spokesperson, the mother made a tweet in which she confessed, “Gotta be somewhere where your appreciated and not just tolerated!!! God take the lead, we right behind ya”.

Cormani appeared in just nine games for the Buffaloes and made four starts along with recording 13 tackles. However, last season, Deion Sanders expressed his dissatisfaction with McClain’s performance. Publicly Coach Prime confessed that he wants the cornerback to work on himself, “Study and prepare. Be on time for meetings, show up to meetings. Understand the scheme. I check film time from each player so I can see who’s preparing, so if I don’t see that, you would be a fool to put somebody out there who’s not prepared.”

Maybe this was the moment that McClain felt that his efforts went unnoticed and he started to feel unappreciated. As per the speculations, there exist five transfer portal landing spots for the cornerback.

Not everyone knows that McClain’s entry into Coach Prime’s squad has been no less than a thriller. The cornerback announced his decision to join Colorado, turning down Miami’s offer on signing day. Now it is the prime time for McClain to reconsider his choice and return to Mario Cristobal’s program.

He also had a bond with the Alabama Crimson Tide when he was recruited out of high school. Kalen DeBoer and Ken Wommack will be eager to welcome McClain now. The Florida State Seminoles had five cornerbacks play in the last season. This opportunity will be special for the player since he will be playing in his home state.

Coming with a five-star pedigree, Florida Gators seems to be an enticing option for McClain since previously too he has been sought by Billy Napier. Shane Beamer’s South Carolina Gamecocks have a ton of offensive potential that will help McClain grow in his own way.

So the path ahead of Cormani McClain is ready to spoil him with multiple options. But going by his pattern, it is assumed that the cornerback will be choosing his next destination based on where he and his talents will be dealt with with utmost esteem.
