Travis Hunter has made stealing the show a part of his routine. He did it in the 2023 season with his two-way skills. He did it again at the US Marine Corps training, and another time in his Orlando meet and greet. Continuing the suit further, Hunter shocked everyone with his overall rank in the 2023 season. Per the rankings released by PPF College, Hunter ranked 61st among the top 101 players. While it was a thing to be proud of for Coach Prime, it ignited a wave of berating for the CB.

The reason behind it? Michigan Wolverines defensive back Mike Sainristil, more specifically his ranking. The Wolverines DB ranked 72nd, way lower than Hunter. This is where fans lost their cool. Safe to say, most were disappointed when they saw the rankings which had Sainristil’s rank below Hunter’s. The result was the comment section of the post being doused with tons of comments bluntly expressing their dismay. For them, it was “A crime to have Mikey this low.”

While Travis Hunter and Co. gained a ton of recognition through their program because of having a 4-8 season, the Wolverines won hearts, along with a National Championship with their loss-less season despite having a whole community against them because of the sign-stealing farce. This, along with Sainristil’s over-the-top records with 26 solo, 6 interceptions, and 2 sacks.

Travis Hunter is not too far behind in the numbers as well, with his 23 solos, 3 interceptions, and 0 sacks. However, fas being the best judge, had already made up their minds.

Throughout his 4 year career at Michigan, Sainristil has displayed exemplary performance. Hence, when he was not awarded with a proportionate rank, fans were naturally going to not sweep it under the rug, claiming that “Sainristil is top 20.

Well, that was all they needed to turn the list into a joke. While the comment section was already filled with fans laughing their hearts out, it did not stop them from unapologetically dismissing the rankings altogether. “Sainristil at 72, nobody should even bother paying attention to the rest of the list,” claimed a fan.
