Woah! Months after struggling with disappointments and lack of trust, it’s finally time for the Colorado Buffaloes’ dynamic duo, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, to prove everyone wrong. His guest Dalton Wasserman believes so, or that’s what he disclosed on Kevin Borba’s Locked on Buffs podcast. While the last season’s 4-8 narrative marred their confidence, they seem to be on the rise from ashes this time. And guess what? Shedeur and Hunter kept the injury gremlins at bay and on his way to conquer all the wins. But while the pair skyrockets with skills, Wasserman pointed out a crucial factor that must be taken care of.

While it’s only a few weeks away from the BIG GAME, all the analysts had to discuss was how the Colorado Buffaloes would hit the rebound button. And no brownie points for guessing, Deion’s program is counting on the two players to flip the script in their favor- Shedeur and Travis. And what is giving them the golden ticket? Of course, heading on to the season without any injury. Touchwood! As expectations hit high notes, Borba comes up with a crucial question, “If they’re healthy and playing well, do you think Shedeur and Travis playing well is like five to six wins, seven to eight?”

To guide Borba and the Buffs fandom with an answer, the analyst dropped the mother of all confidence boosters. He reassured, “Just the two of them themselves…it’s half kidding but I almost want to say they’re worth all of the wins right for this team. They’re worth all of them.”

But how could Wasserman be so sure? After all, Shedeur is among the top three QBs who is about to land early in the NFL Draft 2025 while Hunter is “arguably the single most talented football player in the game” who is known as the “Shohei Ohtani of college football.” Wasserman had only one plea, “They just need to protect him [Shedeur], man!” How is Deion working his magic on it?

Coach Prime’s promise to Shedeur

Even though Shedeur ended up as the most sacked player in the history of college football, with 52 sacks, he did not allow it to crush his morale. And his now wading his way back to action. At the Black and Gold game, the QB’s lost mojo came back to light as he finished 10-14 for 116 yards and a touchdown in the rain-shortened scrimmage. Now that Shedeur has gifted a considerably good performance, Father Deion has something in return for him.

Coach Prime assured, “Shedeur is going to be the happiest man in the building.” What made his confidence shoot through the roof? Of course, his talent to pick up the best of the best from the transfer portal. In this way, Coach Prime catered to all the loopholes that pushed Shedeur to the edge, the faulty O-line.

Deion has only one mission this season. To keep Shedeur out of harm’s way. He has landed multiple five-star recruits including, Tyler Johnson, Jordan Seaton, and Justin Mayers, whose primary responsibility is to safeguard the QB. That being said, no force can throw a wrench in Colorado’s victory parade.
