Deion Sanders Drives Stern Message to Shedeur & Co. Home as Colorado Chases Playoff Glory

“I want you guys to go to the next level,” is one ultimatum that Deion Sanders gave the Buffs players among many others. Each practice session that the Buffs have these days has a share of Deion Sanders’ rousing words, one that has drilled his motto in the Buffs players’ minds: to win. The redemption of the previous 4-8 season surely won’t come easy. However, looking at Coach Prime’s words for the following season, they are armored of the worst.
With the Buffs clear about their goal with a bullseye vision, Deion Sanders has now given a specific name to it: the college football playoffs. They missed the boat to the playoffs last season, mainly because of fundamental on-gridiron blunders like poor play calling and majorly corrigible offense. This time, however, there’s no room for any of that. In his recent Instagram post, Prime upheld his goal firmly, saying, “Hold each other accountable. We want to work like a playoff team and that’s what we have. That’s what we’re at and that’s what we got. Ain’t no ifs and buts about it,” Sanders stated in a no-nonsense way. “We ain’t play this well to falsify this. This is the goal, and that’s what we’re gonna get,” Deion Sanders emphasized. Upon hearing those words, Shedeur Sanders and Co. were charged up to conquer the season, starting from the Black and Gold Day.

Since Prime Time entered the Buffs media game, the Black and Gold Spring Day has become a big deal in Colorado. The previous season, Colorado University sold out the tickets for the Black and Gold Day for the first time in team history. The Spring game bash is to be held on April 27th at the Folsom Field. The team will practice for their spring session till March 24, before they go on their spring break the next day, returning on April 1. While this will be the next big milestone for Deion Sanders to acclaim, he’s set for the following ones as well.

Deion Sanders on their 2024 schedule
There are 7 months for the next season to commence. Yet, Deion Sanders and Co. are gearing up for it like there’s no tomorrow. Prime’s reaction to the 2024 schedule showed his readiness to take on each of the teams on their schedule. The Buffs will first clash against North Dakota State, something that didn’t sit well with Prime, followed by a showdown against Nebraska and then Colorado State.
“Colorado State… shoot, I wish we could start off with that one,” Sanders said on Undisputed, expressing his apprehension on facing North Dakota State boys first. “Those guys come to play and they can play,” stated Deion Sanders on Undisputed. The Tim Polasek-coached team secured the third position in the FCS Coaches Poll the previous season. However, it’s the head coach of Nebraska that Coach Prime is thrilled the most to go head-to-head against. “Nebraska, that’s going to be a good one, they’ve got a great coach.”

Matt Rhule joined Nebraska during the same season that Deion Sanders joined Colorado. Since then, Rhule led the Cornhuskers to a 5-7 score, slightly better than Colorado’s. Now that both Rhule and Sanders are well-acquainted with their teams, it would be interesting to see what these two bring to the table. This, paired with Colorado’s arch-nemesis like Ohio State, might make it tough for the Buffs to reach the playoffs. Will the Buffs fight back equally, or will they crumble?
