Spring is coming to Colorado and so is the Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp. Deion Sanders has already done a great job assembling both players and coaches for the 2024 season. The former NFL DT had been coming in the spotlight consistently ever since Coach Prime planned for him to be part of the Colorado staff
Coach Prime previously said, “To see him go get his diploma, because I know what he wants to do, he wants to coach on this staff and he wants to be a part of this staff. And he is going to be a part of this staff.” There had been speculations from various sides about what position Warren Sapp would be getting at Colorado or when he would be joining the staff. But now things are slowly falling into place as the SB champion makes a big reveal.

Warren Sapp’s got a lot of energy and enthusiasm in him and it’s clear from his excitement to come to Colorado. He recently joined RK and Jake on DNVR Sports on YouTube to discuss his joining timeline with the Buffs. He said, “March is when I’m coming. That’s what I was told. That’s what Prime said. If Prime told me I was coming in March then I’m stamping it. My bags are packed. I’m ready to go.”

When Coach Prime first revealed his plans for Warren Sapp to join the Colorado coaching staff, his position was unclear. Now, things are slowly unfolding as Sapp disclosed his designation in Colorado. “Graduate assistant,” the 51-year-old said. “I got to start at the bottom… but irregardless of what the title says, I know what my influence will be.” With his past experience in defense, he might prove to be a valuable staff for Coach Prime.

Warren Sapp’s football achievements
As a star former NFL DT with 13 seasons, Warren Sapp could influence Colorado with his rich experience and knowledge from his playing days. As a player, he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders and is a 4x First-Team All-Pro with seven Pro Bowl wins. The 1999 NFL Defensive Player of the Year was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

Warren Sapp retired from the NFL in 2007 recording 96.5 career sacks, ranking 3rd and 28th as the highest career sacks for a DT and DL, respectively. Following his exit, he served as an NFL Network analyst until 2015. Coach Prime already had a vision of bringing Sapp to Colorado and time will determine whether he made the right choice.
