Deion Sanders is always a fun coach to be around with. Even though the Colorado Buffaloes are under the weight of heavy expectations, especially after ESPN FPI reports. Amidst the summer training Coach Prime arrives to pass a mocking jab on one of his prodigies. It is none other than Buffaloes offensive lineman, Tyler Brown (the “Rock” of CU). The reason being Brown having had some gala time on his vacation. However, the player was away from the program for a few days since he had a special feat to attend. Do you know, outside the gridiron “The Rock” is a scholar?

The Buffs were sweating it off to some leg circles when Deion Sanders’ entry came as a gasp of fresh air. However, little did Brown realize that his time off from the grueling training session would be costly for him. On entering, the first question that Coach Prime threw was, “Rock just had a great vacation”. Jordan Seaton who is seen lying down beside the OL, joined the coach in the mocking banter, “Yeah he was on a yacht drinking.” When Sanders termed Brown’s getaway as “outstanding”, Seaton drew reference to Brown’s story posted on social media.

To this, the Buffs HC was left surprised as he claimed, “What he put a story out there…I’m just saying where did you go?” Here came Brown’s immediate reply, “It was a graduation”. It was true as the Buffs OL graduated on May 9th from the University of Colorado. Here, Deion Sanders is simply teasing Brown since the Buffs HC himself was aware of his graduation and congratulated the player on X as he wrote, “‘Rock’ so darn proud of u ! @_tylerbrown56 on the Gram.”

Brown’s journey from NCAA rejection to academic excellence

In a questionable decision by the NCAA, Brown was denied immediate eligibility to play last season. It was Coach Prime who took a stand for him, critiquing the NCAA for this move. The Buffs HC took the matter into his own hands to support “The Rock” who at Jackson State earned AP third-team FCS All-American honors. Coach Prime criticized the college football platform, condemning them, “Do you really care (about mental health), or are you saying you care? Are you caring when it’s convenient? Or when it’s profitable?”

He also became the top lineman on an offense that led the SWAC and even earned a Top 15 rank scoring offense at 38.0 points per game. Overcoming the darkness that the NCAA put him into, Brown excelled brilliantly in academics. Brown is a scholar athlete with a 3.6 GPA in his major and graduated in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado.

After graduation, he wishes to pursue his interest in Speech Pathology alongside football. His latest academic feat opens up multiple paths for Brow one of them being helping people in need to overcome communication challenges. Does this mean that Deion Sanders and company might lose their very own “Rock” in the future?
