Just when everything seemed to be going well, Deion Sanders and Tracey Edmonds announced their split in December 2023. Following their breakup, Edmonds took to social media and posted, “We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together.” Now, Sanders has shared his thoughts about being single. What did he say?

Reflecting on being single, he said, “I’m happy. I’m not a man that likes to be alone. I like to have somebody. I don’t sprinkle me, baby. I’m a settled type of guy. I’m a father, man. So I gotta set an example for my shorties because they know, and they watch me, and they emulate and imitate me. Because they know and they watch me. And they emulate and imitate me.”

“So I gotta set a perfect example for them. So daddy can’t go out there hunting like that because they gonna know and you can’t bump heads nowadays.”

However, he did not comment on his relationship and dynamics with Edmonds. Coach Prime seems in no hurry to get himself a partner. Instead, he is currently focusing on his team and has dedicated himself to the Buffs for the 2024 season.

Optimism is on the cards for Coach Prime this season when he thinks about the preparation the CU Buffs have gone through. He previously told CBS Sports, “You can smell the meal in the kitchen and it smells darn good. We’ll do a few more things after the spring but I love where we are.” We’ll credit him because this season, the Buffs finished 22nd in the overall recruiting class with seven HS commits and 24 transfer players.

“If you can see the young men working out, if you could see the camaraderie, if you could see them challenging each other and holding each other accountable, it’s unbelievable. It’s a new day, but I love what we’re doing. We started building from the outside in, but now we’re building from the inside out, so the game plan is right on target,” he stated.

Further, he has reeled in the best prospects of the country. But what’s surprising is that he did not conduct any off-campus recruiting visits. Clearly, his recruiting style is different. In contrast to Sanders, former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh had 145 off-campus contacts with recruits, from Dec. 1, 2022, till the end of his tenure with the team.

Additionally, Coach Prime has also gone to great lengths to prepare the Buffs to spark unity and enthusiasm by bringing in Mariners, live DJs, interesting internal competition, and more. The team will kick off spring football practices on March 18 for the showdown on April 27 at Folsom Field.
