What a lucky day! Forget autographs. Deion Sanders brings cheer to a little girl’s hospital stay by gifting her his wristband. Coach Prime has had this one big heart since he spent some time with the kids at the hospital despite the busy weekend. On June 24, the Buffs head coach visited former and current cancer and sickle cell patients at Aurora’s Children’s Hospital Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. But little did the young girl, Piper Lardes, know how lucky she would get to receive the wristband. Besides the accessory, Sanders came up with an even more enticing surprise for the tiny Buffs fan.

Reach The People Media captured a different side of Coach Prime, away from the field. In the video, we see Deion Sanders interacting with children who are bravely fighting cancer with the help of a diligent hospital staff. Among them, his interaction with Piper stood out. The little girl, who has been cancer-free for several years, shared her story with Sanders. Touched by her resilience, Sanders decided to give her his wristband as a symbol of her strength. He also gave her a shout-out, acknowledging her tough spirit: ‘There you go all our kids wear these… tough discipline with character.’

Little did Lardes realize that even a bigger surprise awaited her. Right after handing the wristband, Sanders came up with a big promise, “We hope to get you to a game…you just got to let us know when you want to come. We got you. We got your cup”. Coach Prime himself has undergone multiple surgical procedures on his leg and foot in recent years for a life-threatening issue. Sharing his experience, Sanders boosted the morality of pediatric patients, assuring them that they would “win” their respective health battles. Spending time in charity is not something new for the Buffs HC.

Deion Sanders and his generous moves continue

In 2022, when he was the Jackson State HC, Deion Sanders demonstrated his philanthropic side by donating half of his salary, a staggering $150,000, to renovate the facility for the players. This was just the beginning of his journey in philanthropy. He later became a key figure in Aflac and partnered with the charitable organization, directing the proceeds toward supporting treatments and research for children with pediatric cancer and blood disorders. In one of the “auction for a cause” events, the items up for auction included footballs signed by the University of Colorado head football coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion “Prime” Sanders and pairs of Aflac emblazoned shoes, all for a noble cause.

The footballs were auctioned at $100,000 and the shoes at $60,000. The other item included one blue blazer worn by Coach Prime on TV ads, which sold for $23,000. In March, Sanders’ charitable side came to the fore as he promised a unique offer for a “consistent and dependable father.”

In one of the Well Off Media videos, Sanders expressed his wish to recognize and appreciate the efforts of the fathers who embody qualities of dependability and consistency within their kids. With this, he offered good fathers free pairs of Nike Air DT Max ‘96. Such a philanthropic soul, Coach Prime has a tough image he projects!
