Haters were whacked right off the cliff when Deion Sanders Jr. made a statement with the standards his father set. While Sanders did not stoop down low to a level of shunning the ‘nepotism’ allegations against his father, his words were enough. The tale started when the ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’ host Guy Feiri announced the terms his son would require to fulfill if they wanted a dime from the Flavor Town fortune.

Pointing out the words of Shaq to make his point, Guy Fieri asserted, “If you want this cheese, you got to get two degrees.” Terms are terms, despite one of his sons, Ryder, speaking sourly of it. Still, his older son Hunter and nephew Jules are “on their way”, giving the celebrity chef a proud smile. Deion Sanders, on the other hand, had his moments to boast a proud grin, and the ones to share some serious lessons for his kids.

This moment was somewhere in between. Mentioning Guy Feiri’s message, Deion Sanders Jr. wrote on his Instagram, “Coach Prime would’ve said to get 2 degrees to get a handshake.” Sanders Jr. was confident about what his father would say while reacting on Guy Fieri’s words, representing how close of a bond Sanders shares with his kids, and the values he has instilled in them. The statement not only emphasized the standards Coach Prime has set for his kids but also the importance Coach Prime gives to education.

In the 1980s, Deion Sanders could not conclude his degree at Florida State. But prompting himself to be the best he could be, Sanders adjourned his degree by 30 years and gave his graduation speech at Talladega College. During those 30 years, Coach Prime learned the tough ways of life, making sure to teach them to his kids through his parenting.

With all the support that the Sanders kids are showered with, they excel in their studies. Shilo Sanders is in his senior year at the Buffs, while Sheduer Sanders is playing in his junior year. Shelomi Sanders is a freshman, while ‘Buckey’ and Deiondra Sanders have already graduated.

Despite all of Coach Prime’s quirky banter videos with his kids, Jason Whitlock has a problem with Coach Prime’s ‘helicopter parenting style’. As per him, Coach Prime’s ‘controlling’ parenting style is holding his kids back. Well, Deion Sanders is not running away from it. In a conversation with E! Insider, Sanders revealed the disciplined approach his kids have to follow. “It’s a certain standard that we abide by, especially in public,” confessed Deion Sanders.

“They’ve been disciplined their whole life.” But Sanders takes great pride in it, rather than perceiving it in a negative light like Whitlock, “Nobody’s perfect but I’m a pleasant father and my kids, they’re doing the best,” says Sanders, leaving no room for argument there, with his kids being some of the best college athletes. As debatable as this approach stands, no one can deny its positive effects.
