As the NFL Scouting Combine nears its conclusion, the franchises and players have their minds set on their prospects. Top franchises across the league have selected their mix from the most promising college football candidates, who managed to leave a lasting impression on the scouting heads and coaches in Indianapolis. Jayden Daniels was one of the players who stole the attention of several franchises. The 2023 Heisman trophy winner was listed among the top players in the scouting week and is in talks with four NFL franchises: the Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders.

However, in his latest press conference, Daniels threw a quick hint at his fans. The signals were pointing at him preferring Las Vegas Raiders. “I already knew coach Antonio Pierce. Just all around me and the whole staff. Everybody was great, great energy. Be able to just sit down and talk ball,” Daniels said. With Daniels having a history with Raiders’ head coach Antonio Pierce, will this impact his draft stock and potentially make the Raiders his top pick?

“AP is a great guy, he’s the right guy for the job,” Daniels told CBS Sports at the NFL Scouting Combine on Friday. “If … I hear my name called on draft day, if I hear my phone ring and it’s AP, I don’t know what I’ll do. We’ll see,” throwing another hint fans’ way. However, it’s not the only team that has piqued his interest, as he shared his experience during the interviews with other teams as well.

During the same press conference, Daniels also made a compelling case for Commanders. “I just get to sit in there and really know people,” Daniels said. ESPN’s Mei Kiper also supported Daniels going to Commanders. “I love Daniels’ fit with new Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury,” Kiper said. Daniel’s explosive playing style paired with Kingsbury’s high volume reps, better known as the ‘Air Raid’ system in Commanders, holds the potential to shake up the top defenses.

Along with Commanders, Daniels also spoke about his meeting with the Giants. “They handed me the clicker, and we were just talking ball” Jayden Daniels on his meeting with the “energetic” Giants’ coaching staff. Along with these 3, Daniels also engaged in talks with Patriots, Jets, and more at the Combine. Will this be the ultimate break Daniel would need in his NFL career? Or will it be a gradual journey for him? Only time will tell.
