Legendary coach Deion Sanders recently released his motivational book, “Elevate and Dominate: 21 Ways to Win On and Off the Field.” Sharing personal stories for inspiration, Sanders got emotional during a recent book tour stop featured on Reach The People Media. In a powerful moment, Sanders revealed a past struggle with su*cidal thoughts. “I know him [God] personally and intimately and the thing that he whispers to me has manifested my faith in a way that it was unbelievable because I was su*cidal at one point,” he said. This shocking revelation painted a vivid picture of Sanders’ journey. He continued, “So to go from that to where I am now and had nothing but God so you can never tell me shut up, don’t talk about Jesus, don’t proclaim his greatness.”

He added, “I know how low I’ve been, and I know where I’m right now. So in my peace was the thing I was trying to seduce, I was trying to purchase, I was trying to manipulate, I was trying to manifest. All I had to do is access the Lord and he gave me the peace in the midst of the storm.” Despite a busy season ahead with the University of Colorado, Sanders remains unafraid to share his faith openly.

Coach Prime lives by his words of wisdom

Deion Sanders, a two-time Super Bowl champion and baseball World Series participant, seemed to have it all. He had a family and wealth and was even immersed in music. But beneath the surface, 1997 saw him grappling with inner struggles. In his 1998 autobiography, Power, Money & Sex: How Success Almost Ruined My Life, Sanders revealed a period of darkness, a time when he contemplated su*cide.
