Deion Sanders is one of the most busy personalities in the college football landscape. But that does not rob him of the time to keep track of his sons’ next moves. As Shedeur is all set to spread his wings and join the NFL Draft next season, Coach Prime has expressed full support for whatever Shedeur wants to do.

However, it will be the coach who will be dictating the destination that Shedeur will commit himself to. In an interview with DNVR Buffs on April 18, coach Sanders put down his guards as he confidently claimed, “I’m gonna make that happen”. Even though Shedeur has decided to play college football this year, intrigue has already taken charge among fans about his next big step. Now that everybody is aware of the fact that the Colorado Buffaloes’ quarterback sensation will be getting a breakthrough next year, Deion Sanders now spills facts about the NFL teams that could draft his son. As Coach Prime confesses, “Why would you want your kid to go to a college where they don’t care about winning? So if I have that thing on me to make sure that does not happen I am not gonna make it happen.”

Earlier in March, Coach Prime made an appearance on “Sirius XM’s Mad Dog Radio with Chris Russo”. During the show, the coach declared, “Like, I don’t want my kid [Shedeur] going nowhere cold next year. He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson [Miss.], played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado. I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him.”

Meanwhile, Shedeur threw for 3,230 yards with 27 touchdown passes in the last season and has the pedigree of a top player. With just three interceptions in 11 games, he has managed to put up better numbers than this year’s famous name, J.J. McCarthy and will definitely be the first-round draft pick next year. Hence, Deion Sanders is ready with his mind mapping where he wants to see his son.

Coach Prime ticks check boxes for his son

Shedeur along with Travis Hunter are expected to be high draft picks in 2025. During his appearance on the “Million Dollar Worth of Game” podcast, Sanders revealed how he has it figured out for Shedeur and the ideal NFL team. His preference list contains six NFL teams. The teams include the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, and Atlanta Falcons. These are the five teams that Coach Prime has played during his illustrious NFL career.

With one remaining, it is the Philadelphia Eagles. According to the Buffs HC, Shedeur and Eagles will be a good fit. About the compatibility between his son and Atlanta, in Deion Sanders’ view,  “There were certain cities that fit. Atlanta fit. And I want that for my kids. All of them. I want the right fit. First of all it was the ethnicity because that was the first time I saw black people in positions of authority… it blew my mind..it was real in Atlanta.”

It is now to be seen whether Shedeur takes Deion Sanders’ advice before starting the most important chapter of his football career. The countdown has started to find out whether Coach Prime is able to make the best decision for his son.
