Kirby Smart might not be the recruitment king, but at least he has Carson Beck. The last season has been challenging for the Georgia Bulldogs HC. Losing players to legal woes had led the program to hit rock bottom. But not anymore. Smart has got his feet planted on a rock-solid base.

All credit goes to his clear strategies for star quarterback and Heisman Trophy contestant, Beck. And guess what? The feeling is mutual. Beck too shows faith in HC Smart to flip the narrative and soar above, so much so that it would transcend college football and give a tough call to the NFL pack in 2024.

How Smart’s Bulldogs plan to dominate this season

Now that Beck has exceeded all the expectations last year, he deserves due credit for a first-year starting QB for all the great things he has delivered. However, that does not mean that the Georgia QB’s spot is confirmed as the Heisman winner. No matter how difficult the scenario is, the Bulldogs are going to play it big and are believed to give a tough call on some of the NFL programs as well. At least, Peter Burns from SEC Network feels so, “They’re you know Carson Beck. They’re loaded once again defensively, they get off the buzz mark and they look better than some NFL teams right now.”

And that’s because Smart has got a simple yet effective plan for Beck. Instead of running away from the competition or letting fear dominate them, the Georgia HC is on a mission to instill strength within Beck. The Bulldogs HC highlighted, “Well, now, this year, you got a lot of high expectations again for Carson Beck and for Georgia. So we don’t run or hide from the Heisman talk as something that he embraces. We embrace it.” As Smart counts on their star QB, Beck too shows faith in Smart’s squad.

Beck’s Heisman hopes are rooted in unity

While the hype surrounding Beck as the top contender in the Heisman race is real, the Bulldogs QB seems to rather have a humble take on it when he was approached at the Manning Passing Academy last month in July. The QB believes that in case he achieves success, it has nothing to do with himself and will rather be a collective effort.

As reported by On3 report, “It’s 100 percent a team trophy.” He openly admitted how his securing success comes from a strong offensive line. “Obviously as a quarterback, my success is very much dependent on the offensive line, it’s very much dependent on how our running backs play, it’s very much dependent on if our defense can get stops, it’s very much dependent on if our wide receivers can go make contested catches and get open,” confirmed Beck.

Smart’s program runs high in motivation and spirit as it is bolstered by some notable returning wide receivers like Arian Smith and Dominic Lovett, among others. But after all, it’s the Georgia HC who is keeping the team tight by only focusing on details, no matter what the outcome is.
