The credit for the initiative goes to Coach Lane Kiffin who executed a stealthy masterpiece. Reinforced offensive line move by Kiffin

Kiffin’s strategic move has garnered attention as the dual inclusions add significant strength to the Old Miss roster. Standing at an impressive 6-foot-8 and weighing 313 pounds, Buelow made a notable impact as a guard for the Huskies. He went back to action immediately after overcoming an injury, starting the final nine games of the previous season that propelled him towards taking home the Joe Moore Award.

Along with him, a key contributor to the offensive line, Kalepo brings his 6-foot-6, 325-pound frame to Kiffin’s squad. The player has added further solidity to the offensive line. He started in all 15 games for the Huskies in 2023, 14 at left guard and one at right guard. Rated as the No.8 offensive tackle, he has tallied 40 appearances for the Huskies.

With the addition of Kalepo, Kiffin aims at bolstering protection for the QB but also enhancing their running game. Hence, the coach’s meticulous recruitment efforts have addressed both defensive needs and contributed to a well-rounded team.

Ole Miss coach follows Georgia’s blueprint

Kiffin channeled his focus on bolstering the offensive lines due to his keen awareness of the SEC’s physical nature, exemplified by perennial powerhouse Georgia. With this move, the coach has departed from traditional Southern recruiting grounds. Gradually, the coach realized that to compete with the best, Ole Miss must tap into talent pools beyond the Southeastern states.

In this regard, Georgia’s success in recent years in the light of dominating the line of scrimmage has inspired Kiffin to replicate the blueprint. Hence, the coach decided to acquire top-tier offensive linemen to close the gap between the Ole Miss and the perennial contenders.

The initial games provide Ole Miss with an opportunity to build momentum and cohesion before the first significant test against LSU to be scheduled on October 12. On top of that, crucial matchups against Georgia and Oklahoma are slated to be played at home. With this, the Revels will have a home-field advantage in these key clashes.

The combination of talent and strategic planning by coach Lane Kiffin positions Ole Miss as a formidable force in the 2024 season. With this, the SEC landscape is witnessing an infusion of talent from the Huskies’ playoff journey with a reinvigorated offensive line into the Rebels
