On Saturday, the Colorado Buffaloes football team officially announced that they hired Hall of Famer Deion Sanders as their head coach. Notably, he was the head coach of the Jackson State Tigers football team for around 2 years. Initially, the Tigers did not have a great start under Sanders’ coaching; however, he turned it around in the 2021 season, and currently, they are dominating the SWAC conference.

After looking at their success, the University of Colorado Boulder decided to bring in the legendary coach as well. After becoming the head coach, Neon-Deion gave a fiery press conference on Sunday. At one point, he called out his son, Shedeur Sanders, to stand up and practically declared him as the no.1 quarterback of the team.

NFL fans have mixed reactions regarding Coach Prime calling out his son. One fan joked about it and made a prediction about the Colorado team.

Another fan called it ‘Daddy Ball’.

One more fan feels this Sanders-Colorado combination will be a disaster.

Another fan slammed the Hall of Famer for focusing on himself.

One more Twitter user feels that Sanders should not elevate his son to the QB1 position.

Meanwhile, a few fans are optimistic about the whole situation, as some of them feel that Sanders has to coach at a high level to succeed in Colorado.

On the other hand, one fan feels excited to see Sanders’ son, as the Twitter user called him elite.

One fan wanted him to earn the spot first.

Then, one fan pointed out that Sanders indeed said about earning his spot.

Notably, Sanders is a Hall of Famer in both college football as well as pro football. In 2020, he took charge of the Jackson State college team. A year later, he led them to their first SWAC conference title since 2007, with an 11-2 win-loss record.

Sanders promised good things for Colorado in his first press conference

This season, JSU has an overall 12-0 record, as they won their second consecutive SWAC conference title. Now, the Colorado college team is also expecting the same results from him. In his recent press conference, he said, “I truly understand what you want — all you want is the opportunity to win. To compete, to dominate, to be amongst the elite, to be amongst the best… And darn it, I’m gonna give you that.”

Notably, the Colorado Buffaloes are in the last position of the PAC-12 division and lost 11 games this season overall. They have already fired head coach Karl Dorrell earlier this season after a poor start. Interim coach Mike Sanford could not do much better, as they lost 6 out of 7 games under him. Notably, Colorado hasn’t won a conference championship since 2001, and fans are hoping to change that under Sanders’ coaching.
