“All the things that I believed in, for all these years, 50 years of coaching, no longer exist in college athletics,” Nick Saban exasperatedly said at the Capitol Hill roundtable. Saban did not mince his disappointment during the talk hosted by Senator Ted Cruz, nor did he let his wife, Terry Saban’s disbelief in the NIL go unnoticed just because of her absence during his Washington speech.

Terry Saban’s raging words against the changing dynamics of the CFB reverberated through the headlines. “All they care about is how much you’re gonna pay them, and they don’t care about how much you’re gonna develop them. So why are you doing this?” Saban’s loving wife for 50 years asked her husband, who burned the candle at both ends for 26 years in collegiate football. Weaving your everyday life around recruits and the ball for 26 years was tough for the Sabans. Since they did the job laudably, they also reaped some sweet rewards. About $21.5 million sweet.

According to sources, Saban’s home is just 10 miles away from the most expensive house in Florida. So when it pops in everything surrounding Nick and Terry Saban, it shouldn’t come off as much of a surprise. Bud Elliot diverted fans’ attention in this case. Terry Saban’s genuine concern for her husband’s years of efforts and the players’ mindset becoming more money-minded was tagged as a “red alert.”

“Did this conversation take place at Nick Saban’s new $20M house that he got after leaving the Miami Dolphins because Alabama backed up the Brinks truck to get him to leave? Or at one of his Mercedes dealerships?” Elliot asks the fans, painting Terry Saban and her husband hypocrites. Well, Nick Saban’s career earnings are pretty high, but who is to blame? After Kirby Smart tried to take over Alabama, Saban returned with a $93.6 million bang as he signed an eight-year extension, earning around $11.7 million yearly. The extension ran until 2030. However, with Saban’s decision to leave a full seven years early, he lost about $70 million. Looking at his net worth, it surely does not seem to hurt him.
