It’s payback time! It looks like Matt Rhule, the Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach, is not ready to leave his ground this time, and the Colorado Buffaloes should brace themselves for an impending storm. On the On3 podcast, Andy Staples warned Deion Sanders’ program beforehand. But what made the analyst so confident about Nebraska acing the killer move against the Buffaloes?

The hope surrounds their quarterback, Dylan Raiolo, who now walks on the same path as Patrick Mahomes. There had been certain loopholes last time that gave Colorado enough chances to trample the Cornhuskers. Meanwhile, fans are confident that Folsom Field will turn red.

By defeating Nebraska, Deion’s team improved to 2-0 in his first season as coach. Shedeur Sanders, too, rose to fame by recording three touchdowns in a 36-14 rout in their home debut. As pointed out by Staples, Nebraska had a big issue with their turnovers. “Colorado beat them last year in Boulder. Can Nebraska overcome what was a big problem with turnovers that hamstrung a very good defense that was the issue for a lot of last season?” asked Staples.

Rhule has developed a master plan to dampen Shedeur’s talent. As Staples claimed, “So here’s the thing it’s probably Dylan Raiola starting at quarterback so your five-star recruit” wields high hopes. In April, Raiola decided to head to Kansas City after throwing for 239 yards and two touchdowns in the Spring game. But what for? Kansas City is home to star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his trainer, Bobby Stroupe. The coach has worked with Mahomes since the quarterback was in the fourth grade.

Since Raiola has been ranked as the third-best quarterback in the 2024 cycle, he will do everything possible to improve his skills, just like the impressive quarterback Mahomes. Raiola had told the Omaha World-Herald, “Bobby has a lot of things that he does. I think the best thing he focuses on is flexibility in uncomfortable positions. Being strong…trying to stay loose, stay flexible, avoiding hits. And when you’re taking hits, you become durable.” Meanwhile, is it part of Rhule’s big plan to talk good about Shedeur and to keep silent about Raiola?

Deion vs. Rhule’s rivalry heats up

The drama surrounding Colorado vs. Nebraska gets more intense as the 2024 college football season draws near. Rhule participated in the Joel Klatt Show on July 2 and surprised college football fans. Instead of endorsing Raiola, the Cornhuskers HC praised Deion’s son, Shedeur. Even though Rhule has no good memories facing the Buffs, as all that Shedeur gave him was nightmares, he still gave the Buffs QB his due credit. “He [Shedeur] is one of the best football players I’ve ever coached against. And, you know, we blitzed him. I think we sacked him like 10 times. And we hit him a ton. And he stood in there… He’s an unbelievable competitor. And he’s tough,” claimed Rhule.

Amidst the Raiola vs. Shedeur debate, fans went crazy after EA Sports College Football 25 dropped a tweet on June 26. The picture showed Folsom Field, where the gallery was filled to the brim in yellow and black. But after the Buffs’ disappointing season ended with a 4-8 record, the Nebraska fans devoured some tongue-in-cheek debate.

Some individuals even warned that the Colorado fans’ emotional attachment would have a significant consequence in the end, as only red flags would be raised to honor Nebraska’s victory. Fans have to wait until September 7 to find out who shares the last laugh: Deion or Matt?
