Williams’ arrival in the Windy City has garnered praise from none other than Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan. The quarterback and DeRozan share a unique bond, having roots in Southern California, where Williams played college football. DeRozan’s warm welcome, “On behalf of Chicago and the Bulls, we want to welcome you, Caleb, to the family, to the city,” struck a chord with Williams, prompting him to share the moment in his story with the caption, “THIS IS FIRE! MUCH LOVE Y’ALL.”

Not only DeRozan but Wade, too, poured in his emotions while talking about Williams joining the Bears family. The NBA legend welcomed the quarterback by posting a video, “On behalf of Chicago and the Bulls, we want to welcome you, Caleb. To the family, to the city. You’re going to do big things. Fight on. Amidst the hype that Chicago and Williams are basking themselves in, Carmen Vitali comes up with a reality check.

Keep expectations from Williams in mind

Amidst the celebration of Williams’ entry, Vitali instead adheres to a humble mindset about the Bears’ projected success. On the April 29 episode of the FOX Sports Radio Show, Vitali claimed, “I can’t wait for Chicago to have something to celebrate but I want to caution against having these expectations right away. On paper, yeah, they look amazing. They look like they could contend for the division. They look like they’re a playoff team. I think they will flirt with playoff contention but I don’t want that to be the expectation. However, now that the Bears have landed star wide receiver Rome Odunze, the possibility for the dynamic duo to take charge of the gridiron reigns supreme.

The quarterback is aware of the expectations he has been exposed to now that have entered as the top pick. However, he is also running high on motivation as he reveals that there is no reason to duck, and he abides by the motto, “Attack it head first and go get it.”

Without carrying the experiences of potential struggles in his first season while transitioning from rookie to college, Williams seems to hold a positive outlook. In such crucial times, DeMar DeRozan and Dwyane Wade’s words added to the quarterback’s conviction.
