As the 2024 NFL Draft draws close, analysts make their final assumptions through mock drafts. Given the situation, the USC Trojans quarterback, Caleb Williams, is all set to land in Chicago Bears. It is time for another top pick, Jayden Daniels’ next probable destination. ESPN’s analyst Adam Schefter joined to take charge of the guessing game.

In the analyst’s opinion, he is strengthening his initial analysis about Daniels’ next probable destination: Washington Commanders. Being extremely confident about Washington taking in Daniels opens up a greater discussion of how he will be an ideal fit for Dan Quinn’s squad.

Chances of Daniels landing in Washington

JPA Football quoted Schefter in one of their tweets to substantiate Daniels’ move to the Commanders. The analyst claimed, “I will stand behind that. The signs still continue to point to Jayden Daniels going number 2 to Washington.” Having the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Schefter seems confident about Quinn’s next move revolving around Daniels among the other two competitors, Williams and Maye. With Williams going to the Bears, chances seem to be more dominant about Daniels and the Commanders’ collaboration.

Besides Schefter, Colin Cowherd from FOX Sports has also placed his confidence. In an attempt to prove his point further, the analyst compared with another quarterback talent and the top prospect in the NFL Draft, Drake Maye. Cowherd said, “Alright, I have been told the Washington Commanders, right now, as of today, would choose Jayden Daniels, LSU quarterback, as their top pick. I’m told they believe he’s more consistent than Drake Maye. He is quicker, more mobile than Drake Maye.” Besides, it has been speculated that Daniels will be the right fit for Chicago’s offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury.

Daniels is the right fit for Commanders

Kingsbury was behind the famous Kyler Murray from the Arizona Cardinals and Patrick Mahomes during his time at Texas Tech. With this, the OC’s experience revolves around working with dual-threat quarterbacks. So, if the Commanders land up Daniels, it will be an easy path ahead of Kingsbury, whose scheme appears tailor-made for Daniels.

The quarterback, too, will be ushering his on-field talent with him. Last season, Daniels threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns, along with four interceptions for LSU. Most importantly, the quarterback holds an important position because of being hypermobile. Former Washington coach Ron Rivera said, “You’ve gotta have that type of quarterback that can move around in the pocket, hold onto the football, find guys downfield, and just send it downfield to make guys make plays.”

Jayden Daniels knows it all, with the team looking for someone who can use their legs, further spiking the Commanders’ interest in him. Meanwhile, per the analyst’s reports, the program is all set to meet the Heisman-Trophy-winning quarterback sometime next week.
