McKinstry draws inspiration from Coach Prime

Out of the many strategies that Sanders abides by, he seems to derive motivation from his very own quote, “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good.” Prioritizing one’s physical and mental health, Coach Prime is diligent in working on himself in an attempt to be his best version of guiding the players.

On the show, Griffin III takes up this quote by the Colorado Buffaloes HC and reveals how Kool-Aid who has been always known for being molded by Nick Saban is now compared to Prime Time. To which, without taking a moment, the player shared his gratitude, “Man it feel good man you know to being in the same boat as Deion always you know watch this highlight still to this day, punt return”.

He further continued, “It’s just having that prime time in me man so he’s very special man off the field, coaching and also when he plays. He said Man you look good you play good man.” McKinstry is standing at an important juncture as he is about to debut in the NFL and focuses on nothing but himself.

High prospects for McKinstry

The three-year starter for the Crimson Tide over the last two seasons has worked on his numbers and had 22 pass breakups and an interception. Among the roster of defensive players who are entering the draft, Kool-Aid is one of the top defensive players. The 6-foot-1 cornerback is arguably the best at his position.

Additionally, the tension between Houston Texans and McKinstry seems to be mutual. The Texans will enter the 2024 NFL Draft with the No.23 pick. If given a chance, coach DeMeco Ryans with his defensive mindset is more than willing to land McKinstry as a realistic option for Houston. At the end of February, McKinstry even revealed that his meeting with the Texans had gone well.

McKinstry’s USP is a versatile cornerback, who is reigns in playing outside and in the slot, Houston Texans must prepare themselves for a thrilling ride ahead. No matter where he lands up, he will be living by the words that the college football coach, Deion Sanders has left in him.
