You tag Coach Prime on your X post and may not expect a reply. If he replies, you would be highly fortunate. Interestingly, Ontario quarterback Daniel Mielke II got lucky enough to catch Deion Sanders’ attention even after not being a Buff himself. You must be wondering that the quarterback must have done something extraordinary for the Buffs head coach to barge into his post.

Yes, you are right. In a surprising turn of events, Mielke II didn’t challenge Sanders to a typical gridiron showdown but to a fishing contest. The quarterback, not forgetting to tag the ultimate fishing champion on the Colorado roster, Travis Hunter, threw down the gauntlet. Sanders, always counting on Hunter, was surely taken aback by this unique challenge.

Mielke II comes up with a fishy challenge for Deion Sanders

Even though Deion Sanders is not Mielke II’s coach, it did not stop the Ontario QB from giving out an open challenge to the Buffs HC. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback from La Verne, CA, was not someone that Coach Prime personally knew. But he does now for an obvious reason. Mielke II tagged Deion Sanders as he wrote, “Slayin trout today!  @DeionSanders and @TravisHunterJr doesn’t have anything on us.” To this came Coach Prime’s confident comeback, which later got deleted: “Keep ya trying.”

However, the Buffs HC’s confidence does not come from his own skills. Instead, he counts on one of his players. It is none other than his dual-threat, Travis Hunter, who uses fishing rods as magic wands, casting spells on water and attracting the fish. It’s not that Sanders is not at all interested in fishing since he, too, has started to pick up interest in this hobby. However, the root of this newfound interest is to beat Hunter as on one occasion, Coach Prime quipped in one of his Instagram posts, “Really thinks he [Hunter] can beat me fishing. I’m trying to be a good host, but tomorrow, it’s on!”

Sanders and Hunter’s fishing adventure gets a new twist

Hunter, known for his on-field prowess, decided to surprise Sanders with his off-field skills. Last December, the two embarked on a fishing trip. To everyone’s surprise, Hunter managed to one-up his coach by reeling in a whopping 10-pound bass. This unexpected victory left the coach in a state of shock and excitement, exclaiming, “Oh my God!” “Oh my God!“Oh, Lord Jesus!”

The video from their fishing date went viral, and the Deion Sanders-Travis Hunter duo became regarded as a formidable fishing combination. As their favorite spot, they often choose Lake Prime and Lake Time, the freshwater bodies in the Buffs HC’s farm. To further strengthen their bond, Hunter gifted Deion Sanders some fishing gear.

Till now, the competition was between Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter. However, it’s time for them to fight as a team if they want to defeat Ontario quarterback Daniel Mielke II. Now that the Buffs HC counts on him, Hunter has already won the competition by winning the coach’s heart.
