The Colorado Buffaloes’ training camp fell silent as wide receiver Omarion Miller shared the story of his life. Having lost his father at a tender age, he felt he had not been lucky enough to make his father proud. This unexpected exchange of poignant narrative turned the Buffs’ regular practice session into an unforgettable moment of team solidarity. Miller grew up feeling all alone, but now, his team has his back. Among the strong prospects, Miller is believed to be set for a breakout season in 2024. Meanwhile, CU wide receiver Jaylen Ellis made a bold prediction about him.

The Buffs are gearing up for the season to kick off. While the Colorado players are often seen sweating it out during their workout sessions, Darius from the channel Reach The People Media captured what the players do during their breaks. Sometimes they engage in fun banter, pulling each other’s legs, but on July 9, they revealed an unknown side of the squad. As the players cooled off by taking slow-paced walks, they shared hidden truths from their pasts. It was then that Miller shared his story, deeply touching his teammates. He started with, “For me bro, growing up my Pops passed away when I was like 13-14. So like he really ain’t get to experience me, he get experience me blowing up type”.

His tough times were not over as he continued, “I got another one. My grandfather who was like my second father figure in my life. He passed away the next year following my pop pass. So like that really made me like step it up”. With no one to turn to for guidance in sports, Miller faced significant challenges.

As his teammates listened in silence to the wide receiver’s tear-jerking story, they immediately offered their support. In unison, they reassured Miller, saying, “The world see you. They see you.” This support will go a long way for the wide receiver, who has already impressed his coach.

Coach’s early impressions of Miller

Even though it has not been long since Colorado’s new wide receivers coach, Jason Phillips, landed in Boulder, he already senses the impact Miller will have. In one of the interviews, Phillips shared his thoughts about the WR, “I like Omarion Miller. I’m starting to fall in love with Omarion Miller, so we’re in the dating stages right now.” How sweet!

The coach certainly has his reasons to be enthusiastic about Miller. He further clarified, “He’ll continue to mature and be the player we all expect him to be and, obviously, be the player he expects to be. He’s taking the right steps toward that.” Last season, the true freshman torched USC for 196 yards and a touchdown on seven catches, claiming the spotlight against the Trojans and proving why “Omarion is a dog.”

Amidst the Miller craze, fellow Colorado WR Ellis tweeted in February that Omarion “is gonna be the best WR in CFB.” With his natural talent on the football field and his spatial and high-point skills, Miller’s greatest USP is clear. All eyes are on Omarion!
