Shedeur Sanders has found a competitor. In the days leading up to the 2024 season, Shedeur Sanders seems to have found a competitor who, per him, is a better team on the gridiron. In the first episode of his podcast 2 Legendary with Shedeur Sanders, the Colorado QB gave the fans his top 3 teams for the season.

Although the QB was well aware of Oregon, Georgia, and Ohio State being the top 3, Shedeur’s personal rankings were a bit different. Here’s how they went. “1. Georgia. 2. Colorado. 3. Miami,” said Shedeur. While Oregon and Ohio State did not get a spot on the CU QB’s list, Georgia did and secured a rank higher than his own team. Now what does this mean for Colorado?

Georgia is a formidable force this season. Last season, with Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan and Nick Saban’s Alabama were the top seeds, and naturally, had a higher shot at the National Championship. Now with them out of the NCAA equation this season, it’s all about Kirby Smart. Precisely why, for the second consecutive year, Georgia has secured the No.1 spot in the SEC preseason rankings, being the team predicted to win the SEC Championship. Even ESPN has ranked Kirby Smart the No.1 CFB head coach this season.

Well, Deion Sanders and Co. knew that Georgia would be a force to be reckoned with this season. What they did not expect was for their leading QB to rank them higher than them. Will it be a challenge to Coach Prime’s “We Comin‘” motto for the season? Not only that, will this mean that the chances of Shedeur Sanders getting the Heisman are equally in danger?

Shedeur Sanders’ competition for the Heisman trophy.

Not only is Colorado a top team this season, but also their top players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are expected to be the top contenders for their Heisman competition race this season. Along with them, Carson Beck is in the race too. While Travis Hunter has expressed his passion for winning the Heisman Championship this season, Beck’s rating precedes him.

Beck is rated as a top QB and a top player overall. Safe to say, Hunter will have to put up a spectacular performance just to even come close to Beck for winning the Heisman this season, the competition’s that tough. Amid all this, Shedeur Sanders appears to have a wobbly chance to win the Heisman. Don’t get us wrong, Shedeur might as well be the Heisman this season. For it, however, each game this season will need to go Shedeur’s way.

Not only will the Heisman trophy require excellent game skills but it will also require Colorado to put up a winning record this season. Precisely why Deion Sanders and Co. are all about giving their all this season, just to multiply the chances of either Shedeur or Travis Hunter winning the Heisman.
