The offseason isn’t a time for rest and Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders is proving it as he was seen throwing some hard yards in South Florida. It’s training time for him along with Miami Hurricanes signal-caller Cam Ward and Virginia Tech Hokies QB Kyron Drones in Miami as they hit it out on the beach with QB coach Darrell Colbert.

Shedeur Sanders is already four months post-recovery and has been grinding with Deion Sanders and the Buffs in Boulder. But a little getaway training session would mean no harm. Rather, it’s putting him in high spirits as he gets a dose of laughter from the amusement provided by his fellow athlete buddies.

An X update highlighted a funny exchange between the two QBs aside from Shedeur Sanders. While throwing and catching, Kyron Drones made a statement that was reiterated by Darrell Colbert who said, “You heard what he said. [Kyron] said at least he won a bowl game.” This had Shedeur Sanders laughing, but not as hard as what followed next.

Like Shedeur Sanders who is still yet to win a bowl game, Cam Ward retorted, “Yeah by running that bih 250 yards.” Last season in December, Drones led the Hokies to a 41-20 victory over Tulane in the Military Bowl where he ran for 176 yards and a touchdown. But what are the stats if you won what you’ve been playing for, right?

Drones replied to Ward, “I get the job done.” Ward, who transferred to Miami this year after playing with Washington State, made it to the bowl game in 2022 but his team lost 6-29 in the second annual LA Bowl against Fresno State. As for Shedeur Sanders, he still has one more year in college football to prove his bowl worth.

Shedeur Sanders as the star of the Colorado Buffs

Last season may not have ended on a good note as the Buffs went 4-8 despite a strong start. The team’s poor offense led to Shedeur Sanders being sacked 52 times. Even so, the 22-year-old managed to finish with 3,230 yards and 27 TDs.

This season could be a different story because Deion Sanders is righting the mistakes in his first season in Boulder by fostering a strong offensive lineup. According to several sources, Shedeur Sanders is a potential top pick when he declares for the 2025 NFL Draft. So, this little bit of extra training with QBs of other teams and the reinforcement by Coach Prime might help him, in the long run, to get him to where he wishes to be – at the top.
