“I feel like I just don’t want to play for clicks,” was one of the first digs Cormani McClain made at his former coach. Since then, the saga has been never-ending. First, McClain held the upper hand in the beef as his comment invited some criticism for Sanders. Of course, Mike Farrell was not about to let the suit continue as he unveiled the other side of McClain’s story.

“If you’re going to come out and do what Cormani McClain, did tell your true story. Tell the whole thing. Now, everybody knew he was a problem. He was asking for money from Miami and pitting them against Florida and he had his hand out and all this other stuff. He was about himself,” Farrell stated fearlessly on Jason Whitlock’s ‘Fearless‘.

McClain’s exit, amid the ugly mass exodus at Colorado, raised questions about the abilities of Deion Sanders and Co. to give their players a fair chance. Farrell not only cleared that part related to McClain but also vouched for Deion Sanders for giving McClain a chance.

“He wanted to play wide receiver. He didn’t want to be a quarterback. Everybody who’s in recruiting knew this stuff. Deion took him and said ‘I’m going to put him under my wing as a former defensive back. I’m going to be a mentor to him. He’s a Florida kid.’ Didn’t happen. He called the kid out after three games,” Farrell revealed the things that unfolded at the Buffs between Sanders and McClain.

Of the 9 games he played at CU, McClain started 4, in which he recorded 13 tackles: six unassisted, one for loss, and two pass breakups. Now that the other facade of the story is out, fans would know better to best judge the situation, as McClain continues to be on the lookout for teams to join.

After implementing his not getting enough room at CU to grow, McClain reported his desire to go to a program that “impacts me at my best ability.” Will he find one or not is a major responsibility that McClain and all the others who left CU would have to face or as coach Jason Brown puts it, “Got to put your big boy pants on and deal with big boy repercussions.”

Whatever was left to be said and done, McClain’s mother completed it by saying her part to Coach Prime. As of now, per rumors, Oklahoma, LSU, USC, Texas, Georgia, and Oregon are potential landing spots for McClain. However, if the claims made by Farrell stand true, many of these programs go directly out of the equation for McClain. Only time will tell which team would McClain end up with.
