Even though things recently did not turn out how the new Michigan Wolverines HC wanted to, he has been lucky enough to get constant support. With the crucial time of spring games at its peak, former cornerback and Michigan alum Charles Woodson extended his support. Now that multiple players and coaches have joined Jim Harbaugh in the Los Angeles Chargers, receiving a morale boost from the Hall of Famer has helped Sherrone Moore sail through difficult times.

Hence, the Wolverines HC gave a heartfelt shout-out to the former player in an Instagram story, calling him “THE GOAT.” Besides support, Woodson also flaunted the Wolverines’ national championship belt.

Spring has always been a big deal in college football. This year has been one of the many firsts for Michigan since it was the first time under Moore’s tutelage. The Instagram page of the Michigan Football had posted a thread of multiple pictures with the caption, “More photos from yesterday’s Spring Game #GoBlue #Team145.” Out of all the pictures, the one in which Moore is seen engaged in a deep conversation with Woodson seemed to stand out for the new HC  and he re-shared the post on his story with the caption “@charleswoodson the goat!! appreciate ya.”

However, there is a special reason for penning this heartfelt note for the Michigan alum. This act of honor is for the only defensive player in history who won the Heisman Trophy. Besides, he is also a Super Bowl champion, who was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021. Woodson has been a constant support for Moore and the champion could not keep calm before the Spring game and came up with a huge announcement.

Woodson holds high aspirations for the Wolverines

Right before the game started, Woodson gave an interview to Fox Sports. The Michigan alum was spotted holding a Michigan-themed championship belt. This was enough to excite the Wolverines fans but instead, he chose to take it to another level with his motivating statement as he claimed, “When you national champions, you’ve gotta let everybody know.”

Even though previously, with Harbaugh at the helm, the team has been dominant in the Big Ten over the past few seasons, in the off-season the gap became close. The credit goes to Michigan’s arch-rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes. To continue to rage over Moore’s squad, Ryan Day has come up with a master plan to include Bearcat Will Howard and Quinshon Jukins to pose a threat to the Wolverines’ defense. On the other hand, the Wolevrines’ national championship-winning team from the last season was completely different from the 2024 roster. The dominant force of the quarterback J.J. McCarthy who served as a catalyst will be missing this spring season since he entered the NFL draft.

Hence, Sherrone Moore will try his luck in displaying some of his quarterback options, and what better platform to do so than the spring games? Even though Woodson assures that the Michigan Wolverines program remains the same with some new faces this season, fans will witness Moore’s tactics to shoot to the top and replace Harbaugh’s records.
