For Deion Sanders’ daughter, Shelomi, it’s kind of a 50:50 situation as she steps into a new chapter of her basketball career. As the basketball phenom has committed to Alabama A&M, she has gathered flowers from Coach Ebi Ere, who gifted her the title “work horse.”

However, there still seems to be a void, as she is yet to receive words of appreciation from her father, Coach Prime. Deion has always been his kids’ biggest fan; however, this is not the case with Shelomi. Since she left the Colorado Buffaloes program and has been inclined to follow Pilar Sanders’ path, the Buffs head coach has created an invisible wall around him.

The grind never stops for Shelomi

After a disastrous season, Shelomi is finally making a comeback. Her efforts could be noticed in her hard work propelling the A&M program to the top. In a video, the latest Alabama recruit runs nonstop across the basketball court. As she dribbled across the court, making numerous attempts to make a basket, her efforts did not go unnoticed. The coaching mentor, Ere, gave Shelomi a shoutout on Instagram. Posting a clip from her practice session, the mentor wrote, “Work is work! And @shelomisanders is a work horse. Individuals, group, 2 a days, and conditioning. Never complained once, she just asked for more work.”

Shelomi does not fear hard work. She is ready to hustle, particularly after being sidelined for the first six games because of an injury she suffered while in Colorado. The Buffaloes have not been a pleasant experience for Deion Sanders’ daughter since she scored a season-low two points. It was after that moment that she decided to part ways and try her luck in another program. Unfortunately, her decision did not go well with Coach Prime.

Deion vs. Pilar’s clash of perspective on Shelomi’s future

It has been a tradition in the Sanders family that Deion carved out the career path for his kids. He has done that for Shedeur and Shilo. However, here, Shelomi emerged to be a pathbreaker. At first, she followed her father to Jackson State and then to Colorado. Hence, Coach Prime did not expect Shelomi to hit the transfer portal. This disappointment in Sanders could be noticed in the immediate interview that followed, where the concerned father tagged Shelomi’s decision as “stupid.”

However, he and his ex-wife Pilar, Shelomi’s mother, disagreed. While the Buffs HC seemed unconvinced about the basketball star making her way out of Colorado, Pilar appeared to be her support system. She gave a shoutout to Shelomi by sharing her practice video on Instagram with the caption, “We got thangs to do.”

Recently, Shelomi has been seen collaborating with Marriott Bonvoy. This further confirmed that Pilar, who has been a model herself, influences her daughter. Now that Deion Sanders wanted her daughter to focus on her talents and skills first, will this move push the Buffs HC further away from Shelomi?
