Since arriving with Deion Sanders in Colorado, safety Shilo Sanders has played a phenomenal role in the Buffs’ defense. Last season, he recorded 67 tackles, 54 of which were solo tackles. He also forced four fumbles and one interception.

As the Buffs prepared for the 2024 season during their spring practice, the spotlight was on the self-proclaimed CEO of Headache Gang. However, despite several whistle blows, a recent late hit on RB Micah Welch drew public scrutiny. Yet, undeterred by the criticism, Shilo Sanders responded with a strong comeback, a testament to his unwavering determination and resilience.

Shilo Sanders recently got into a controversial scenario where Well Off Media captured him delivering a late hit on a teammate during spring practice. As the tackling criticism continued to pick up pace, Shilo Sanders shut down his critics in an appearance on YouTube’s Thee Pregame Show. He slammed his haters, starting with, “Download PFF, pay the $90 and you’ll see I had a 12% miss tackle rate… Y’all never touched a football. Never touched a field. Never put on pads in y’all’s life. And if you have, you was weak. That’s how y’all sound. So go and do your research.”

Nonetheless, the Buffs’ safety knows his worth and isn’t about to let his critics have the last talk. The way he defended himself amid the criticism shows that he shares Coach Prime’s positive attitude, which fuels him to rise above the public’s poor judgment and make them eat their own words. As the CEO of Headache Gang, Shilo Sanders is dedicated to giving his opponents a hard time with his aggressive playing style. In a previous statement, he expressed his commitment, saying, “I am one of them players that… I just try to have my presence felt while I’m on that field. And that’s how I play like. Shilo Sanders, who also earned the nickname “heavy hitter” by his team, is on fire this spring practice. His talent shone on the field when he tackled 175-pound WR Asaad Waseem and brought him to the ground. This earned the appreciation of Coach Prime and Deion Sanders Jr., who captured the video. Deion Sanders touted his son’s gameplay, saying, “He’s sick, boy!!” while Junior remarked, “He’s not playing those types of games… Good!” The spring game is inching closer, and there’s no doubt that Shilo Sanders will go on to improve himself and pave the way for the Buffs to clinch a CFP appearance.
