Sanders secures Goldberg’s trust

The Goldberg name is no stranger to the world of football, as Bill Goldberg himself has left an indelible mark during his college years as a former Georgia Bulldog. It was then, that the WWE legend developed a close association with the then Falcons player and the current Buffaloes head coach, Deion Sanders. Based on his experience he is confident about his son joining the team, “This is one of the best situations for my son not only for opportunities both on and off the field but in addition to football but moreover, I have a good friend of mine. I’m not gonna say watching over Gage but he can oversee him as a dad”.

On this note, Goldberg assured that he refuses to allow his son to be a burden for Sanders who already has a lot of responsibility. Firstly, he has to manage the Colorado Buffaloes team, coaching them in the right direction. Secondly, his children look upto him for his guidance which lands him with an array of obligations. Provided that Sanders has always been a great guide, Goldberg has garnered high hopes for his son’s time in Buffaloes.

Bill Goldberg’s legacy in football

A 6-foot, 210-pound linebacker hailing from Boerne, Texas, Gage will be a promising addition to the team. With this, he will be the seventh prep recruiter under the guidance of Sanders. Hence, he could not retain his excitement and expressed his gratitude on social media. Interestingly, Gage’s father, had an impressive career in football being a defensive captain during his senior season. Bill Goldberg tallied 348 total tackles with 121 in his final year.

However, it was not for long that Goldberg was associated with football. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the 11th round of the 1990 NFL Draft and spent time with various teams including Falcons. It was in 1995 that he bid adieu to football and embarked on a new chapter in the wrestling world. During his time at the Falcons, Sanders used to count on Goldberg during knockouts. In this manner, they developed a friendship that assures him that his son will be on the right path under Coach Prime’s guidance.
