Justin Fields likened to Seattle Seahawks superstar Russell Wilson

Former Super Bowl winner Willie McGinest was the latest high-profile analyst to laud the skillset of Ohio State’s Justin Fields. He even went on to compare the Buckeyes quarterback to a young Russell Wilson.

He said, “The San Francisco coordinator and head coach who loves to move the pocket, loves flexibility within the offense and versatility.

“And Fields is one of those guys and he reminds me of Russell Wilson. He can move the pocket and throw darts in small tight windows, down to a field, he’s accurate.

“He can also open up the running game…we know how many yards he rushed for, but he’s not a run-first type of quarterback.

“He’s a ‘throw first’ type of quarterback and if he’s smart enough to get out or get out of bounds and protect yourself, it’s going to be a win-win for whatever team that picks him up but he expands the playbook and this is what the 49ers have been looking for,” McGinest said on air.

There’s no clear indication as to which team Justin will sign for in 2021. But if all the reports are to be believed, Kyle Shanahan is convinced that Fields is the man to take over from Jimmy Garoppolo.
