Three-time Super Bowl champion Shannon Sharpe is known for his great takes on football. And he doesn’t believe the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense should get any blame for the team’s poor show against the San Francisco 49ers. Instead, Sharpe passed the blame to the NFL legend in the Bucs offense. And he has a solid reason for that.

Sharpe put the onus of the defeat on legendary QB Tom Brady for falling flat against the Niners defense.

Shannon Sharpe finds Tom Brady guilty

Former Denver Broncos TE Shannon Sharpe found Tom Brady guilty of the Buccaneers‘ seventh loss of the season. Speaking on his show, ‘UNDISPUTED’, Sharpe gave a clean chit to the Bucs’ defense, even if they let the Niners score 35 points in the game. And he explained his reasoning for that assessment.

“One hundred percent,” Sharpe said on the question of the amount of blame for Brady in the defeat. “Let me ask you a question. How much credit did you give to anybody else in those comebacks? You didn’t mention the defense when they held them out of the end zone. And they kept holding them to three. They got the ball back for Brady. You didn’t give the defense any credit then. Now you blame the defense,” Sharpe continued.

3x Super Bowl Champ Believes Tom Brady’s Giant Comeback A Byproduct Of Saints RB’s “Mistakes”

Brady and the Buccaneers’ offense could only score a single touchdown during the entire game as the Niners thrashed them 35-7. And the loss has further dented their clean path to the NFL playoffs.

The Niners keep Brady quiet

Tom Brady came to his native place on the back of a huge comeback win against divisional rivals, the New Orleans Saints. And with the Niners, he faced a third string rookie QB Brock Purdy. The game was a straightforward one for most fans watching. It was Brady’s homecoming night.

But the Niners defense showed why they are the number one in the NFL. They kept Brady out of the end zone for most of the game. The legendary QB ended up throwing two interceptions in the game and a single touchdown. Brady threw 35 completions for 253 yards in the game.

The loss is the seventh for the Buccaneers who now have a 6-7 record after week 14. The franchise is still at the top of the NFC South table, but everybody else gets a little closer to them.
