After months of speculation, Aaron Rodgers has finally returned to Green Bay. Since news first broke out of his desire to leave the franchise, the Green Bay Packers’ QB remained mum over his future.
But it seems that the quarterback and the front office have managed to put aside their differences to go on with proceedings for the 2021 NFL season.

According to reports, the Green Bay Packers front office, with whom Aaron Rodgers has been at loggerheads for months, have managed to convince the quarterback to return. But Rodgers’ return comes with certain clauses.
Over the past week, the two parties have reportedly reached an agreement that will see him suit up for the Green Bay Packers in 2021. But beyond that, his future remains a bit of a mystery.

Sources at ESPN report that Aaron Rodgers has certain demands which he expects to be met. And these new clauses clearly hint at a future away from Green Bay.
The 2023 year in Rodgers’ contract, the last one of his current deal, is set to be voided. Not only that, but the Packers will also lose the right to place the franchise tag on him in the future.

The Packers also have to agree to review Rodgers’ situation at the end of the 2021 season. This implies that the side might be forced to trade Rodgers if he still wants a move away from Green Bay.
To benefit the Packers, Rodgers’ current contract would be adjusted to give the franchise some much-needed cap room to operate. This would in turn help the franchise tie down other notable stars such as wide receiver Davante Adams who enters the final year of his current contract.
