Aaron Rodgers Talks About the Packers’ Insipid Offense on Display Against the Panthers

Aaron Rodgers is in scintillating form this season. With his touchdown against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, Rodgers recorded his 40th touchdown for the season.
With it, he became the first-ever player to record 40+ TD seasons on 3 separate occasions. For Rodgers, though, the game against the Panthers was a bit of an anomaly.
His touchdown pass to tight end Robert Tonyan was his only one for the game. A rare off day for Aaron Rodgers, who’d previously thrown 13 touchdowns in his last 4 games.

Aaron Rodgers output suffers without Davante
Although the Packers managed to get a win against the Panthers, the offense struggled. Especially when it came to passing the ball. Rodgers ended the night with 143 passing yards, his lowest of the season so far. Lower than the 160 yards he managed against the Buccaneers, in their 38-10 defeat.
“Even though we were obviously very efficient running the football. We need to keep finding ways to get Davante involved because he’s such a difference-maker. We couldn’t involve him a whole lot tonight,” said Rodgers while talking to the media after the game on Saturday.

The Panthers understandably put double coverage on wide receiver Davante Adams through the majority of the game. A move that left Aaron Rodgers without his go-to aerial route.
“They really didn’t give him a lot of single coverage. Maybe one or two plays in the entire game. We have got to find a way to keep him involved because he’s so dynamic. Looking at all of it is frustrating, but we won the game,” he added.
Packers’ offense needs to buckle up
The Green Bay Packers struggled to score a single touchdown through the second half. For a team boasting of the likes of Rodgers, Davante, Aaron Jones, Allen Lazard, and MVS, such stats are damning heading into the Playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers highlighted the need for the offense to pick up its boots if they are to make a deep playoff run. “That type of football in the second half is not going to get it done in the playoffs.
“That’s where we’re going. That’s the trajectory we’re on. We’re gonna at least host a home playoff game, we win these next two we’re going to be the number one seed,” Rodgers said.
With 2 games left in the regular season, the Packers will hope that the poor offensive showing in the game against the Panthers was simply a glitch in the matrix.
