After a Cinderella Run With Cooper Rush, Dallas Cowboys’ HC Mike McCarthy Gets a Backhanded Compliment From Legendary Radio Host

Matt LaFleur and Mike McCarthy are one of the most admired Head Coaches in the NFL. Legendary radio host Colin Cowherd in his latest podcast compared the Cowboys and Packers Head Coaches with a look and work approach. The 58-year-old expert also expressed his admiration for Cowboys coach McCarthy for how he brought in QB Cooper Rush and transformed the team.
The NFL analyst said he cannot take away the records of Mike McCarthy as a coach. He recalled the past achievements of McCarthy and praised him while adding he was not a lover of the experienced campaigner. ‘I love McCarthy? No. But eight straight playoffs, winning record- 62 percent winner. I think that’s above Bill Parcells,” added Cowherd. The Cowboys’ head coach has been positive about his game and has shown incredible faith in the team. This is despite losing some top players, like Dak Prescott, to injuries.

Mike McCarthy is a clear winner so far
The NFL expert added what he figured out from the looks of the Packers and Cowboys coaches. “McCarthy looks like a Milwaukee cab driver and Matt Le Fleur looks like somebody that should be on the cover of men’s health. But it’s funny about Matt Le Fleur. What are the three or four boxes we look for in a great coach? Situational football. Green Bay has been terrible in it for the last few years. Then second-half football. Packers are a terrible second-half team this season,” he said.
However, Cowherd thinks, McCarthy may cost the Cowboys a playoff game, as he is not great at the podium. “He’ll butcher something at the end of the season. He’s a little lumpy. You know, he looks like a neighbor. Dallas is kind of a slick town. there is part of that,” he concluded. However, the Cowboys coach has been a clear winner till Week 5 this season.
