Washington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith made a stunning return to the NFL in Week 5 of the 2020 regular season. The former San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs player came onto the field in place of the injured Kyle Allen in the 30-10 loss to Los Angeles Rams.
He was later named the first-choice QB ahead of Dwayne Haskins Jr. in Week 10. Smith went on to win 5 of the 6 games he played in.

But Washington were knocked out in the Wild Card Playoff round with a 23-31 loss to Super Bowl LV winners, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But will Smith return to the American capital in 2021, or is there a new adventure in store for the veteran quarterback?

One possible option for Smith remains AFC South franchise, Jacksonville Jaguars. Legendary college football coach Urban Meyer was appointed as Jaguars HC earlier this year.
The Jags own the #1 overall pick for the 2021 NFL Draft and they are reportedly set to bring in Heisman Trophy finalist, Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence is still expected to beat Justin Fields, Mac Jones, De’Vonta Smith, and Zach Wilson and emerge as the #1 overall pick when the Draft begins on April 29th, 2020.
Coach Meyer could bring in Alex Smith on a short-term deal to serve as Lawrence’s backup in Florida. Smith has previously worked under Meyer while playing college football for Utah Utes Football Team between 2002-04.
