NFL Analyst Reveals How Close the Packers Were to Trading Aaron Rodgers

The issues surrounding Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his parent organization this summer is secret to no one. The veteran NFL ball-slinger turned back the clock with some eye-catching displays in 2020.
The California-born athlete was adjudged NFL regular season MVP after he threw for 4,200+ yards with 48 passing touchdowns last season. This was his third MVP title. He now has the same number of league MVP wins as 7-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady.

It’s been a busy couple of months for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The soon-to-be 38-year old quarterback was looking to move on from Green Bay after yet another disappointing loss in the NFC Championship Game. Multiple landing destinations were put forward in the summer, but the Packers refused to budge.
“Aaron was told, and I can totally understand why the Packers would say they didn’t say this, and it’s probably in their best interest, but he was told they were going to trade him. And then they said, well we changed our mind.”

“And Aaron is, as Mark Murphy has said on many occasions, a complicated fella. He was like, it doesn’t work that way. You know, no, we’re done. And he was very adamant about that,” Wingo said on the Locked On Today podcast.
Rodgers was reportedly in touch with young quarterback Jordan Love who enters his second season in the NFL. Love is expected to take over from Rodgers when he leaves, just like the latter did from Brett Favre.

But Aaron is adamant that he will continue playing high-level football till he is in his 40’s. However, only time will tell if he is able to achieve that with his beloved Packers or another NFL franchise.
