The return of Tom Brady

Did having a full cast of wide receivers to back the QB up for the first time in a while play into this victory? The presence of Mike Evans, Julio Jones, and Chris Godwin was definitely an additional safety net for the Bucs’ offense.

Twitter exploded with adoration for the quarterback. The seven-time Super Bowl champion threw a game-winning touchdown with nine seconds on the clock. Trailing by 4 points, the Bucs desperately needed this victory. Who better to redeem them in their most dire hour than the GOAT himself?

Brady makes history

For a large chunk of their game versus the Rams, it looked like the Bucs were going to take their fourth consecutive loss.

It was Derion Kendrick’s pass-interference penalty that gave way to Otton’s winning reception. Even though this was not Brady‘s best performance with 280 yards and one touchdown, he made NFL history. TB12 became the first quarterback in the league’s history with more than 100,000 passing yards.

The presence of prominent receivers to make a good supporting cast may also have caused this elevation in the Bucs’ performance.

But, the Rams were dominant throughout the game. Their defense restricted the Bucs for the most part before Brady’s fourth-quarter magic hit them with a touchdown.
