Christian McCaffrey Returns to Provide Carolina Panthers Huge Boost Against New England Patriots

NFC South-based Carolina Panthers have had an indifferent start to the season. In the eight games played so far, Carolina Panthers have won four games and also lost four games this season. We can blame their mixed form this season on the absence of their star running back, Christian McCaffrey through an injury in Match Day 3.
Luckily for them, there is good news. McCaffrey, who was out on the sidelines since 3rd game week, is all set to return. The Carolina Panthers last night activated the Running Back from the injured reserve, which means that he is eligible for Sunday’s home game against the New England Patriots.

Christian McCaffrey, injury-prone or just unlucky?
We can arguably rank Christian McCaffrey amongst the best running backs in the league. His talent is known to all, but unfortunately, his talent is rarely seen. The Running Back’s career of late has been marred with injuries. Back in 2020, McCaffrey signed a deserving record-setting contract extension.
But ever since then, things have been downhill for the star RB. In the last season, the RB could only play 3 games as he missed time with both a high-ankle sprain and then a season-ending shoulder injury. Similarly, he has only played three games in this season as well. Ever since suffering a hamstring injury on Match Day 3, the Running Back hasn’t seen the field. While we can see the last season as an aberration, this season’s recurrence is worrisome.

The return of McCaffrey is a welcome addition for the Panthers. Apart from being world class in his position, he also acts as an extra option in the offense, considering that Sam Darnold’s presence tomorrow is still a question mark.
