“Class Act”: Jalen Hurts Hailed ‘MVP’ Days Before Super Bowl Thanks to Heartwarming Gesture Towards City of Philadelphia

Jalen Hurts, besides having an MVP calibre season with the Philadelphia Eagles, is turning out to be quite the champion of the streets. The quarterback recently partnered with VISA and retail bank Truist to go on a community tour to help the children of Philadelphia. And sure enough, Hurts delivered some brotherly love for the city so famous for it.
Even on his off days, the 24-year-old showed up for Philly in ‘Beyond the Field’ campaign for community growth and advancement. Jalen wanted to return some of the love to the city and posted about the partnership on his Instagram. Camera crews also followed him as he surprised kids and made their days.

“I partnered with Truist to show why caring for the Philadelphia community is so important to me. Follow along as I go #BeyondTheField to give back to the city that’s given so much to me. #TimeForCare, ” Jalen posted, tagging the NFL and VISA as well. “MVP on and off the field,” one fan wrote in admiration.

The eight-hour trip included four stops for Jalen. First, it was the KB Foundation Connection, before heading over to the Walter B. Saul High School. There, the QB was welcomed with thunderous cheers. Hurts interacted with the staff and students while everybody lined up for the selfies. “If there’s anything I’ve learned about this city, the city of Philadelphia, is we’re going to do everything together. And so everybody in this room gotta support and be there for the next person. So I appreciate you all having me,” Jalen told the students.
However, the ‘Day of Care’ wasn’t over just yet. “Thanks for being a positive role model,” one fan commented on IG. Another wrote, “class act”, and one Birds’ supporter commented, “simply the best.”
Two more stops for Jalen Hurts
The first two high school drop-ins had to be fun for the quarterback, considering some of the very interesting questions that the students got the opportunity of asking. One student at KB Foundation even exposed their teacher for having a crush on the QB. However, Jalen dealt with the more sensitive issues with great maturity.
Nicholas Elizalde, a 14-year-old Roxborough High School player, was shot dead after a scrimmage in September 2022. And Hurts sat and ate with Elizalde’s teammates, who narrated the horrifying events from the day.

After that, the Philly signal-caller headed over to surprise Operation HOPE financial coach, Allison Sanka. This was Jalen’s penultimate stop before showing up at Dawn Staley’s foundation to give away some merch and jackets. The University of South Carolina’s women’s basketball coach runs her foundation at the Hank Gathers Youth Access Center, where Jalen and Truist’s adventure-filled day came to an end.
