It’s been a long and tiring summer for NFL free agents. Experienced players in the free agency pool have sat back and watched as teams fought for their services. There have already been some big-money moves this offseason. Well, you can add the name of veteran NFL pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney to that list.

The former Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans defensive star has reportedly agreed on a short-term deal with AFC North franchise, Cleveland Browns. The former 1st overall pick will join coach Kevin Stefanski’s defensive squad as the Browns push for a Super Bowl run in 2021.
Cleveland Browns tie down Jadeveon Clowney to a one-year deal
NFL insider Ian Rapoport was one of the first to report on Jadeveon Clowney’s latest deal. The 28-year-old reportedly signed a 1-year deal worth $10 million to play for the Cleveland Browns. He will team up alongside the dangerous Myles Garrett as part of their defensive line.

The Houston Texans drafted the South Carolina-born athlete as the first overall pick at the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent five years in Texas before they traded him to the Seahawks in 2019.

The 3-time Pro Bowler will definitely serve as a new threat for offensive teams in the AFC North. His pairing with DE Myles Garrett might be the final piece of the puzzle in Cleveland.

After returning to the playoffs in 2020, Baker Mayfield and the Browns will fancy their shot at winning the division title in 2021. They have made a bunch of smart free agent signings this summer. They’ve also managed to re-sign wide receiver Rashard Higgins to a new deal.
With Odell Beckham Jr. also set to return when the season begins, the Browns have all the tools to succeed. Whether they are able to do so or not is a different matter altogether.
