It’s definitely been an eventful first season as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys for Mike McCarthy. Jerry Jones brought in the experienced NFL coach in order to usher in a ‘new era’ in Texas. However, it’s safe to say that things have not as per plan for all parties involved in this deal.
Despite starting the season as one of the strongest teams, at least on paper, the Cowboys have struggled in 2020. A major reason behind that is the long-term injury suffered by franchise quarterback Dak Prescott. But Sunday’s 37-17 win over NFC East rivals Philadelphia Eagles, keeps the Cowboys in the mix for a playoff spot.

He said, “I was not updated, I didn’t care to know. Frankly, I don’t think it helps…I saw the score was posted one time on the board, that was the only time I was aware of the score throughout the day. But at the end of the day, we knew we needed to go out and play well, play some of our best football and we’re doing that.”

“We obviously have things we need to clean up. We looked totally different today than we did two months ago so that’s a real credit to our football players,” McCarthy said yesterday.
A win over their rivals on Sunday powered the Cowboys to a 6-9 record heading into Week 17. They are second in the NFC East behind Washington who have the same overall record.
