Winning the Super Bowl comes with certain perks for the champions. And one of them is visiting the White House to be honored for the amount of effort they put in throughout the whole season. This year, the honor of making an appearance at the White House belonged to Kansas City Chiefs team. They took Washington by storm to meet with Joe Biden and tour the White House before they were given a salutation by POTUS himself. Interestingly, Kelce’s mischievous nature was prominent even here.

As Travis appeared with his brother, Jason Kelce on their podcast, ‘New Heights’, they spoke about the tight end’s unique experience at the president’s residence. After an interesting time there, Kelce spilled the details of his visit and needless to say, they were full of national treasure.

Did Travis Kelce pull a Nicholas Cage?

While talking about his visit to the Oval Office, the older Kelce questioned his younger brother about his shenanigans around POTUS. Travis went on to mention that he had an entertaining time in the Oval Office. He also mentioned that he tried to pull off a scene from the movie National Treasure that starred Nicholas Cage. In the movie, Cage’s character went on to find clues to hidden treasure underneath and inside the Resolute Desk.

Apparently, Kelce emulated that. Interestingly, POTUS Biden didn’t seem to have a problem with it. While talking about this incident on the show, Kelce said, “I have so much more I need to do in here. I’m thinking I’m gonna actually National Treasure that thing, did my best Nicholas Cage impression um as soon as I walked in. And as soon as I found out that that was the energy that uh President Biden was gonna you know yeah he’d set the tone.”

Interestingly, those were not his only shenanigans at the White House. Kelce had also almost knocked over the most powerful man in the world. The only thing that had stopped him was once again his trusty quarterback.

Mahomes saves Kelce from POTUS-mishap

Even in front of Joe Biden, Kelce was seen being his usual chaotic self. While being honored for his efforts with his team, Kelce’s natural tight-end instincts seemed to have taken over. While Mahomes was discussing the Lombardi with Biden, Kelce had tried to sneak away to speak at the podium. He was, of course, stopped by his ever-so-careful QB. Interestingly, while walking to the podium the tight end had gently shoved the President out of his way to walk up to the microphone.

All in all, Kelce seemed to be unapologetically himself, even while he was around the most powerful world leader of the free world. Moreover, his charming personality had won over even Joe Biden, who surrendered to Kelce’s whims. It only remains to be seen if the Kelce-Mahomes duo becomes a regular to visit the White House with another trophy next year.
