Fans Disagree With NFL Not Naming Brock Purdy as the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Despite Destroying Tom Brady

Brock Purdy has been the man of the week. Before playing against the Bucs, the rookie quarterback had been dubbed Mr Irrelevant. However, after the 49ers handed out a crushing defeat, Purdy’s name became associated with the upstart. As Tom Brady came back to his hometown to try and get a nostalgic win, Purdy, along with the rest of the 49ers, stopped him.

Purdy had a great game, and there was speculation of him winning the Player of the Week for the NFC. However, the award wasn’t given to him. NFC’s Offensive Player of The Week was Baker Mayfield. However, fans were very persistent that Purdy was robbed. Furthermore, they firmly believed that Purdy deserved the award after his performance against the Bucs.

Fans react to Brock Purdy being robbed

After the award was announced, fans took to Twitter to react to the alleged ‘robbery’. The fans spoke about how they felt that Purdy’s plays during the game against Tom Brady were especially deserving.

There were fans who thought there were several players, including Purdy who deserved more.

Furthermore, there were fans who spoke about how spectacular Purdy’s performance was.

Additionally, there were comments indicating how well Purdy played for the 49ers.

Another fan had an appreciation for two different players from the 49ers but disagreed with Baker winning.

There were also comments declaring the absolute dominance of Purdy over the rest.

Some of the fans were just questioning how Purdy did not win.

Subsequently, fans were miffed after Purdy didn’t win the award after breaking history.

Ultimately, fans were rooting for Brock Purdy over Mayfield for player of the week.

Ultimately, Purdy proved to be the player that won the hearts of the fans with the way he played. The 262nd pick also broke the curse that had been haunting rookie quarterbacks for a while now.

Purdy: The curse breaker

Brock Purdy was drafted in the 7th round, as the 262nd pick. He was dubbed the 2022 round’s Mr Irrelevant. However, the young rookie made some history against the Bucs. He has become part of some interesting company after being a rookie quarterback who won his first game when he was starting. It seems like the rookie is well on his way to breaking the curse of being Mr Irrelavant.

Interestingly, Purdy is also one of the 7 quarterbacks to play their first game as a rookie starter against Brady. He made history by winning against the star veteran. What remains to be seen is how well will Purdy perform in the upcoming season.
