First Impressions of Jordan Love From Packers Minicamp Won’t Exude Confidence Among Fans

Perhaps no fanbase in the NFL is hurting quite as much as the Cheeseheads. The Green Bay Packers fanbase is in complete disarray. All thanks to one man, namely, Aaron Rodgers.
The quarterback who has been the cornerstone of the Packers offense for years. But as things stand, that might not be the case come the new season. Reports suggest that the 2020 NFL MVP wants out of Green Bay. And his actions seem to back that claim.

With the quarterback not showing up for OTAs or mandatory minicamp, Rodgers clearly is holding out. While this is a cause of concern, the Packers need not fret. They have the replacement for Aaron Rodgers waiting in the flanks in the form of Jordan Love.

The quarterback drafted last season is seen as the man to take over from Rodgers. And while the situation isn’t ideal, Love should be ready to take over if Rodgers indeed wishes to never play for the Packers again.

Jordan Love falters on Day 1 of Green Bay Packers minicamp
With Rodgers not showing up to Clarke Hinkle Practice Field, Love, the team’s next QB1 struggled to impress. The team ran a series of two-minute drills as Love took reps as QB1.
And Love majorly failed to live up to the billing. Unofficial registering 12-of-23 passing according to NFL reporter Rob Demovsky, Love had a pass completion rate of just a shade over 50%.

Even third-string QB Blake Bortles had a better showing than Love. The veteran managed to find the endzone on his second try, whereas Love failed to get even a sniff of the redzone.
While taking reps as QB1 might be new to Jordan Love, the numbers he put up on Tuesday were simply abysmal. The opportunity to cement his place as the man to replace Aaron Rodgers is there for the taking. But a year on, and Love is nowhere near to matching that expectation.
