They say success is the best revenge, and that’s exactly what Deion Sanders must be feeling now. After sealing the deal against The Colorado State Rams, the coach prime explained what fueled the fire for him.

Before the match, the Rams’ coach made a few comments about Sanders’ appearance, which the Buffaloes coach was rather disappointed with. Sanders addressed the issue a few times in the training camp. Now that the job is done, coach prime can laugh about it and say he can appear however he wants to.

What did Rams coach Jay Norvell say about Deion Sanders?

Buffaloes’ spirit is at an all-time high after maintaining a winning streak since the appointment of Sanders. Amid that, the Rams coach managed to make the game feel ‘personal’ for coach prime, with his take on Sander’s habit of wearing cap and sunglass to the press conference.

Talking to his weekly radio show, Jay stated “I don’t care if they hear this in Boulder, I told them. I took my hat off, and I took my glasses off, I said. When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat and my glasses off. That’s what my mother taught me.” While the comments have drawn attention, and even gotten applause from certain parts of the community, all that everyone was waiting for was Sander’s response.

Sanders did point the comments out in his routine pre-game pep talk to the players. But only after the Rams game did Coach prime reveal his real motivation behind the win at the press conference.

Surprisingly enough, he did not mention a single word about Jay’s comments. It was all about the technical aspects of the game.

What was actually motivating Sanders

Just like a true sportsman, Sanders kept it to the field and refused to drag around the personal comments from Jay Norvell. “I’m happy with the win. You got to be happy with a W no matter how it comes, truthfully,” said Sanders. “It’s one point in the game I said we can’t let this dude win, ain’t no way we let this dude win. This press conference is going to be unbearable if we let this dude win.”

Seemingly, Sanders holds no grudge against Jay for the comments. He was more afraid of the criticisms that would follow if their link-up and positional play were not perfect. That’s the sign of a true gentleman and an even bigger hustler. The hustle doesn’t end here yet by the look of things as the Buffaloes are already preparing for their upcoming game with the Oregon Ducks, on 24 September.

Buffaloes are currently in the second place at the Pac-12 table, behind USC Trojans. With the winning streak continuing, they can pose a threat to the Trojans for the top spot. Coach prime and co. must not let the guard down as the Ducks aren’t known to be the softest of opponents in the field. Keep an eye on the show on 24 September.
